More details available for new Skinless record

New details have surfaced on the upcoming Skinless album, which will be their first in nearly 10 years; the band’s last offering was 2006’s Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead. At this time the band have finished tracking rhythm guitars and are now working on the bass tracks. The band’s label Relapse issued the following press release:

New York’s most brutal death metal maniacs SKINLESS have entered the studio to record their long awaited new album. After reforming in the Summer of 2013, SKINLESS are recording their first new album in over eight years. The group is preparing seven new destructive anthems at Edie Road Studios in Argyle, NY with engineer Tom Case and will then send it off for mixing to Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man) and then mastering at Audio Siege Studios in Portland (Obituary, Nails).

The album is planned for a Spring 2015 release via Relapse Records with tentative song titles including “Serpenticide”, “Skinless”, and “The Beast Smells Blood”. Artwork will be handled by Ken Sarafin.

Guitarist Noah Carpenter commented on the upcoming material:

“Finally, for the first time since 2006, Skinless is in the studio hammering out a new album. We can’t wait to get this out to the fans and hear some feedback. These songs have the Skinless heavy groove but we added guitar solos and some different elements to bring it to the next level. The album cover has just been finished and it’s easily our best one yet. Lots more info coming in the next few months.”
Stay tuned for more updates from SKINLESS.

Relapse Records sign Publicist UK

Earlier today Publicist UK announced through a Facebook post that they have signed a deal with Relapse Records. The band’s comment on the signing can be read below in the official press release:

Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of PUBLICIST UK. Featuring a pedigree of members, including bassist Brett Bamberger (Revocation, ex-East of the Wall), drummer Dave Witte (Discordance Axis, Melt-Banana, Municipal Waste, etc.), guitarist David Obuchowski (Goes Cube), and vocalist Zachary Lipez (Freshkills), PUBLICIST UK formed in 2014 and quickly garnered a lot of attention with their two song rough demo, which has amassed over 120k plays on Soundcloud.

The group’s sound is a vast departure from their other projects, instead exploring the intricacies and atmosphere of dark post-punk, new wave, and post-metal. Think Joy Division, The Cure, and Neurosis. Stream the two song demo HERE.

The band will begin recording their debut full-length at the end of October at Wild Arctic Studios in Dover, New Hampshire with Dean Baltulonis (Sick Of It All, The Hold Steady). Mastering will be handled by Dave Gardner, the former in-house engineer for Amphetamine Reptile. A mid 2015 release is expected.

The band commented on the signing

“We’re honored that PUBLICIST UK is joining the Relapse ranks. From the start, they’ve put out some of the best, most brutal metal. They’ve also really expanded their scope and have proven that heavy, intense music doesn’t necessarily need to be metal, either. So for a band like us with metal roots and some metal moments, but an overall different sound, Relapse feels like the perfect home.”
