New info on new Stick To Your Guns album

Stick To Your Guns have released some details concerning their upcoming release. The album will be titled Disobedient and is slated for release on February 10th via Sumerian Records. A teaser for the record has also been posted which you can see below.

Vocalist Jesse Barnett has commented on the record saying:

“Growing up in a world where we are taught to submit, blindly follow and unquestioningly comply, this album is a critique and unlearning of these Stepford mindsets. Where we should be glorifying doing what is right instead of what we’re told, we are only failing each other. Not anymore. Forever Disobedient.”

SoundCheck Hollywood closed down

In case you care but had not heard Soundcheck Hollywood, a metal and rock retail store opened by Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen, closed it’s doors for good as of September 1st. A post was made to the store’s Facebook on August 13th to announce the closing, which you can read below:

It always sucks when a store like this closes it’s doors. I know it’s not how music is sold anymore (if it’s sold at all because downloading) but there’s something about specialty stores like these that’s really awesome. Probably because they tend to carry underground stuff you sometimes can’t find elsewhere, even on the internet.

Sumerian founder Ash Avildsen commented:

“Today is one of the happiest and fulfilling days of my career and I think I speak for our entire staff when sharing that sentiment. Having Circa Survive join the Sumerian family is a dream come true. Their passion and approach of artistic transcendence as a band is exactly what we continue to strive for with Sumerian as a brand.
Their progressive, ethereal songwriting that conveys emotion in such a unique way has built them an incredible cult following while always staying true to themselves, which is the definition of musical success in my mind. Sumerian is honored to play a part in their career and vision. We hope to help them achieve even bigger goals while bringing their music to more new ears worldwide.”
